#Dwarf fortress fps counter position 1080p
Personally, I play at 1080p 60fps and the only thing I'd really like is 1440p for those games where long range action is a thing and stuff become a blob at a distance. If you start dropping under that anyone will notice in a fast action game.Īll come down to what you play and what you feel works for you really. Of course I am speaking of at least 60 FPS. Once disabled, only people playing competitive will notice. That lack of responsiveness is only a problem with mouse acceleration really. I have no idea how that translates into monitors' refreshing frequency. After some (quite early, actually) point into the game, you will only be able to feasibly issue commands, specially mouse ones, with the game paused. So, a drop in FPS will translate into a lack of input responsiveness. Input, both from mouse and keyboard, is linked to the game's FPS. Is not that I going to play competitive DF, I only ask because my monitor is 280hz and on 60hz/fps games the input lag is EXTREMELY high. Originally posted by Fabio:I'm curious to know how the game performs and what are the video settings for monitor, like 60hz, 144hz etc. The step from 144 to 280 however didn't help any of them to perform better, it's snake oil for those who can afford it and get a boner from higher numbers. The step from 120 to 144 was still giving some of them an advantage, but not really statistically noticeable. In terms of reaction time when you have to aim+click in fps scenarios. you notice quite a difference when going from 60 to 75 or 120. He invited a bunch of "famous" competitive gamers to run various tests on various monitors, all powered by high end cpu+gpu, blah blah. One of my monitors is 75Hz, and there is a noticeable difference to my other 60Hz monitors.īut there's some truth to it, and it has been tested by some tech streamer on yt, I'm too lazy to look for the video. 24fps was a joke, I hope nobody here thought I'm serious about it. Please do some research, if you really want to join the discussion. This is one of the dumbest meme myths ever, that have been debunked often enough. It's common knowledge that the average human eye and nervous system can perceive around 24Hz, and anything beyond that is delusion.
